1 month completed!!

I have finally completed a month of being healthy!! It started with a casual walk in the park after office , then gradually moved to run / walk for half an hour, which in turn lead to setting of a 30 minute running habit, which in turn lead me to join a gym as my legs hurt with road running.

Hopefully this is only the beginning of the journey and I can look back at this post in 6 months time and feel good about myself. I have set a few monthly goals for myself:

1. lose at least 2 kgs a month
2. eat 2 apples every day
3. run 30 mins at least every 3 days a week ( currently I am trying to get my 5 km time down below 40 mins)

I realise that this weight loss/fitness is becoming obsessive and I need to tone down on this a bit and slowly push it to the background. This does not mean that I have lost motivation. The aim is more towards making it a part of my daily routine like drinking tea ( 'ooh guess what? I had 4 cups of tea today!!!').

My reading is now reflecting this interest as the last book I read was on the runner - Zatopek. My uncle used to speak about him and after 15 years I finally read about him. It was a very inspiring read, especially as apart from being a great athlete, he was a great person who lived by ideals.

Weight : 84.5 kgs
Cigarettes : sad to say, but back to normal
Diet : under control ( had only 2 cans of beer in the last month, and nothing in the past week)
